Grants Coordinator
Ann Paton has been a fundraiser and public relations professional in the non-profit world for 30+ years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, she worked in the radio and television business in New England and was a finalist for Best Regional Radio Campaign at the International Clio Awards.
For 13 years, Ann worked at Dartmouth College, first as a marketing professional for the performing arts center, and then in her first fundraising job at Dartmouth’s medical school where she directed the Annual Fund and Alumni Relations programs and raised major gifts for cancer center.
Later, Ann was named Executive Dean for Advancement at Brown University’s medical school, now the Warren Alpert School of Medicine, where she oversaw the school’s first major fundraising campaign, surpassing its goal of $70M and engaging a record number of alumni in giving.
In 2004 Ann became Vice President for Advancement at Florida Atlantic University where she was credited with significantly changing the fundraising infrastructure for the young university. During her 2-year tenure, the University achieved record-breaking participation in giving by its alumni.
In late 2005, Ann became Barry University’s Vice-President for Advancement, a position she held for 6+ years. During her tenure, the Parents Fund at Barry was launched, and record participation in annual giving was achieved by faculty, staff and alumni.
Since her retirement from Barry University, Ann has been exercising her long-time passion for assisting small to medium-sized non-profit organizations achieve financial sustainability. In her role as Fundraising Coordinator, Ann serves the Coastal Stewards with grant writing and grant research, corporate sponsorships, and individual donor engagement.
