Dr. Harrison Albert is a marine scientist who serves as The Coastal Stewards (TCS) Science and Education Officer. In this role, Dr. Albert oversees the undergraduate and graduate internship programs in collaboration with our partner colleges and universities as well as facilitating TCS’ various ongoing research projects. In addition, Dr. Albert also provides support for the Education, Marinelife Conservation, and Grants and Fundraising Teams.
Through his decade of professional experience, Dr. Albert has managed and led education and conservation programs ranging on topics from marine mammal science, to coral reef restoration, and other field-based experiences. Dr. Albert also participated in serval sea turtle nesting surveys and releases in The Cayman Islands and The Bahamas. In his spare time, Dr. Albert also helps as a trained marine mammal responder for injured and stranded dolphins in South Florida.
Dr. Albert is a second-generation born and raised South Florida native, is a triple graduate of the University of Miami, and holds a Ph.D. in Conservation Science. Dr. Albert is also a Master Scuba Diver Trainer, 4x aquanaut, and deep-sea submersible diver (to 1,000ft) with hundreds of logged open water and scientific SCUBA dives.
